Principal Acknowledgement

One short form, once per site. It tells whoever runs the site what the program is, and records how that site handles background checks and first aid.

Thank you for your interest in having a Let Me Run team at your site

Let Me Run is a national non-profit that inspires boys through the power of running to be courageous enough to be themselves, to build healthy relationships, and to live an active lifestyle. Two trained volunteer coaches lead the team through practice twice a week on non-consecutive days, for an hour and fifteen minutes.

The season combines training for a 5K endurance run with a curriculum focused on emotional, social and physical health. At the end of the season boys leave the program with a sense of accomplishment, a deeper belief in self, and a greater appreciation for their peers.

Please provide the following information to complete the Let Me Run Principal Acknowledgement.

Your details

So we know who to write back to.

Not asked today. We run at schools, but also at private businesses, community centres and public parks — so this is deliberately not a list of school jobs.

Are you the person who decides whether Let Me Run can run at this site? *

Not a formality. This form is the record of that decision, so it has to reach whoever is actually entitled to make it — a principal at a school, an owner or director anywhere else.

Your site

A school, a community centre, a park, a business — anywhere with somewhere safe to run. Start typing and pick it from the list; if it isn’t there yet, say so and we’ll add it.

This list is the same one the coach sign-up form uses, so your site stays one site across everything we do.

    Keeping the boys safe

Two questions about how your site already works. There is no wrong answer — your answers tell us which parts we cover ourselves.

Does your site/school complete background checks on volunteers? *

Let Me Run requires that all volunteers have a background check completed within the last 3 years.

Will your location have someone who is CPR and First Aid certified on site during all practices? *

Let Me Run also requires that there is always someone present on a school’s campus who is certified in CPR and first aid. If your school does not have a staff member who is certified at all times, please select ‘No’ so we can be sure to include a volunteer or coach who is certified.

    One last thing

Practices run mid-afternoon, which makes coaching hard for anyone working a normal day — and easy for someone already on site. If a teacher, coach, aide or member of your staff comes to mind, we’d love to ask them.

You only need to do this once for your site — unless the person who approves it changes.

Thank you — that’s your site on the record.

We’ve sent a copy to . Your Regional Director will be in touch, and you don’t need to fill this in again.
